Goodbye Luka Modric, thanks for the good football. Acrylic Painting [ENG-ESP]

Last Saturday, world football legend Luka Modric, one of the best players of recent times and an extraordinary person, a role model on and off the pitch, announced his retirement from Real Madrid. As a Real Madrid fan, I can't be more grateful for all the good times during his career, the incredible goals he scored, and the plays he played for his teammates. One of the players who has won the most Champions League trophies is saying goodbye. I hope everything goes well for him and whatever path he decides to embark on. I created this painting on a banknote to pay tribute to this great footballer who has earned his place in history.

El sábado pasado anunció su retiro del Real Madrid la leyenda del futbol mundial Luka Modric, uno de los mejores jugadores de los últimos tiempos y una persona extraordinaria, ejemplo dentro y fuera de la cancha. Como fanático del Real Madrid no puedo sentirme más que agradecido por todos los buenos momentos durante su carrera, los goles increíbles que hizo y las jugadas a sus compañeros. Se despide uno de los jugadores que mas copas de Champions ha ganado, espero que todo vaya bien para él y el camino que decida comenzar. He realizado esta pintura sobre un billete para hacer homenaje a este gran futbolista que se ha ganado su lugar en la historia.

I used a worthless bill, which I applied a layer of white paint to as a canvas. After letting it dry thoroughly, I began drawing Luka Modric's face with a pencil to use as a sketch. Once finished, I began mixing the paints to begin adding tone and contrast.

Utilicé un billete sin valor, al cual le puse una capa de pintura blanca para usar como lienzo, luego de dejar secar muy muy bien comencé a dibujar el rostro de Luka Modric con un lápiz para usarlo como boceto. Una vez terminado comienzo a mezclar las pinturas para comenzar a darle tono y contraste.

I mixed the skin paints, starting with white as a base, then gradually adding orange tones and a bit of brown. This gave me a texture that matched Luka Modric's. I began painting the entire face with a fine brush, taking care of every detail.

Mezclé las pinturas para la piel, comenzando por el blanco como base, donde fui agregando tonos naranjas y también un poco de café. Así puede sacar una textura acorde con Luka Modric. Comencé a pintar todo el rostro con un pincel fino cuidando cada detalle.

Then I started painting details like shadows. This helps give the drawing realism and depth. Expression lines are also very important, so I try to make them as beautiful as possible. Another detail to add is the hair, which I gradually paint in dark tones and then add light where needed.

Después comencé a pintar detalles como las sombras, esto ayuda a darle realismo y también profundidad al dibujo. Muy importante también son las líneas de expresión, así que trato de hacerlas lo mejor posible. Otro detalle agregar es el cabello el cual poco a poco lo voy pintando de tonos oscuros y luego agregaré luz en las partes donde haga falta.

Next, I add color to his eyes and add highlights where the reflections can be seen, like in his eyes. Finally, I paint part of his shirt, and that's how the portrait of Mr. Champions is finished.

Después le doy color a sus ojos, y hago puntos de luz donde se vean los reflejos como en sus ojos. Por último pinto parte de su camiseta y así quedó finalizado el retrato de Mr Champions.

What do you think of the result? I think it's very realistic, definitely a great tribute to a person who, despite the circumstances, always knew how to express joy and camaraderie, who enjoyed sports to the fullest, and who lived through the war since he was a child. All the best in the world to the winner of six Champions League cups, quite a feat. I'll say goodbye soon. Don't forget to comment what you think, and until next time.

Me parece muy realista, sin duda un gran homenaje a una persona que, a pesar de las circunstancias, siempre supo expresar alegría y camaradería, que disfrutó al máximo del deporte y que vivió la guerra desde niño.
