Are you ignorant of this ?

The quest for more knowledge still boils within me. Life is not a competition, but each time I see my fellow coursemates, whom we graduated together, bagging more degrees, I often prick my spine, and I wish to acquire more knowledge if possible. Either a continuous knowledge in my field or another, I just don't wish to end up with a first degree alone.

They made us realize the fact that
first degree doesn't carry much value anymore. There are dozens of people out here with those degrees already, and in a competitive environment, especially in terms of job placement, the higher your degree, the higher your chances of getting employment.

This translates to say that we have to spend extra money to acquire more certificates and knowledge accordingly. But how guaranteed is it that one will get a good job after placement acquiring this knowledge? The fear of spending so much to get a certificate and not getting a job to replenish the amount invested into education is there. What's the need of acquiring an idle certification if it will have no future relevance?

Actually, I do admire countries that give academic loans to their students. It gives them the privilege to attend school and also provides them with jobs after school that they can use to service the loans. This is such a golden opportunity to aid their citizens in acquiring a career. It reduces both the amount of illiteracy and unemployment in the country. What about others that even go further to give scholarships to their citizens?

These countries may actually have very brilliant citizens who may not be financially buoyant enough to sponsor themselves through school. Offering such people scholarships equips them with the knowledge needed for them to become useful citizens of their country. They get to go to school for free and become an asset to their country in the labor force.

For us here it is a risk to go to school because of the financial implications attached to it, and it is equally a greater risk to not pass through school at all.

The dilemma now lies in the fact that is it necessary to continually acquire more degrees with the hope that one might eventually get a job offer due to the qualification, or is it fair enough to end up with only a first degree? In the face of unemployment, a lot of individuals like myself have held onto a first degree for years now and continue with an entrepreneurial pursuit to earn a living.

When I look at the likes of some of the rich business men and women both in our country and outside, it is notable to say that some of them only have their first degrees and others didn't even read up to that level. What is now the secret to becoming successful and wealthy 🤑 🤑 outside of school or excessive learning?

Successful business people do not need to have a PhD to make the millions, just some vital business knowledge and exposure. It is either we face the challenge to acquire more business-like knowledge and build our individual businesses or remain at the mercy of risking so much to acquire more certificates and nurse the hope of acquiring jobs with good payouts.

We shouldn't be ignorant of any of these, it is either you chose to acquire more book knowledge in hope of a good job or invest your time and energy into growing a successful business. Learn the path that will work best for you and follow it.
