Hello dear hivers! Hope you are all doing great!
Today, I will share a nice spot in Baguio City, Philippines. It is called Baguio Botanical Garden, formerly known as Imelda Park, named after the former First Lady of my country.
Just a short history, this garden was also named Botanical and Zoological Garden, since this park was a zoo back then. Also, it was called Centennial Garden, for being the summer capital of the Philippines for a century. The other name for this garden was Igorot village, because of the carvings, structures, and huts inspired by their culture. So let’s take a tour.
As we are walking, we have seen those nipa huts in different sizes. In those huts we can buy souvenirs and different kinds of stuff.
If you see it from afar, it is like the entrance of a doll house with a colorful garden. There are more of these in different styles as you walk this way.
This spot is a good photo subject as we can see the wishing well and other structures are filled with nicely grown plants. This area has various kinds of indigenous plants and flowers.
This area is located beside the wishing well.
If you go further, this beautiful arc can be found. This area reminds me of the arc used for flower festivals.
Other arcs having different kinds of plants.
This is like a cave outside. We never tried to see what was inside it.
This spot is very lovely. From here we can see the vast garden filled with colorful flowers, and culture-inspired structures. Very artistic, and so relaxing.
This live-size family of elephants is so amazing as well. It looks so real. The carvings are truly good.
This is one of the lovers’ favorite spots. This huge bear is perfectly crafted. I am wondering what it looks like at night. Since we came into daylight.
This statue of an Igorot girl reminds me of my childhood. A dear friend of mine. It looks like she wants to have some coffee.
Let's go to the other side.
This spot is very nice as well. I really love the ambiance here. As we can see, the carefully grown, various kinds of cacti plants, in different kinds, sizes, shapes, and colors, are truly amazing.
That's all for now, dear friends. This visit truly captures my heart. It is a bit tiring, but one that is worthwhile. I hope you enjoyed it, as much as I do. There is so much to explore as you go through this Garden. Unfortunately, I have not seen everything. I need more hours to be able to visit the whole area. And because of limited time, I will end up here.
