When you explain the appeal and diversity of Tunisia, which you always have to do after you explain you have been there as no one get why you have, you mention Sidi Bou Said, you mention how it is is sort of like Santorini.
You see it's on the Mediterranean, it's all white and blue, it's luxurious and, well full of tourists, by Tunisian standards, by European standards it's positively emtpy
You will explain how the hotels and actually old mansions, you will talk of the gardens where you can sit, look out to the sea and sip your beer (you will not mention having to share said hotel with a Eastern European film crew shooting a movie which might be called Love in Tunis but maybe isn't.
You will speak of the mosques and the call to prayer which becomes the soundtrack of your life.
You will tell of the magic of wandering the streets early in the morning, before the sun really gets a head of steam up and before the tourists are bused in, you will have the street to yourself you will not have to wait in line for a donut, you will imagine yourself throwing it all away and living here.
